Channa dal 1 teaspoon
Urad dal 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
Jeera 1/2 teaspoon
Green chillis 3
Ginger 1 inch piece
Garlic cloves 4
Garam Masala 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
Oil 4 teaspoons
Curry leaves 6 to 8

1. Wash the potatoes and cook them in a cooker. Donot remove the peel.
2.Cut onions into medium sized pieces.
3. Peel the potatoes and mash them softly.
4. Make a paste of ginger,garlic and green chillies.
5.Heat a pan and add oil to it . Add channa dal ,urad dal, jeera, mustard seeds ,red chilli cut into two or three pieces,curry leaves and hing.
6.Add the paste of ginger,garlic and green chillies.
7.After two minutes add the onion pieces and mix well.
8.When the onions turn transparent. Add the mash potatoes and mix well.
9.Add half cup of water to the curry and mix well.
10.Add tumeric powder and salt and mix well. After 2 minutes add garam masala and mix well.
11.Cook in medium flame for about 10 minutes until the curry thickens. (If you want to make it thin gravy add more water)
Serve with puris and rotis
