Dibba Rotti or Idly batter cake

Thursday, May 13, 2010

My mom used to this pressure cooker pan the dibba rotti was 3 inch in height. It looks like a round cake.  I dont have pressure pan so I made it in a  tawa. It is very soft  inside and crispy out side and tempting to eat. My husband likes it a lot.

Ingredients:
Idly batter (Rava batter)  6 table spoons
Oil 1 table spoon
Salt as needed
If the idly batter has salt then no need to add salt.

Preparation:
1. Heat a deep pan and add oil to it. After the oil is heated turn to low flame and spread the idly batter  into round shape.

2. Spread oil around the cicumfernce. Cover the pan with lid and cook for 15 to 20 minutes.

3. Flip it gently and cook for 5 minutes. Cover it with a lid. Cut into 4 pieces with a knife or pizza cutter.
